Augustinian
Schools
The Augustinian
Order of priests and brothers was founded in 1256 to serve the needs of
God’s people in growing urban areas. From the beginning, the
Augustinians have been involved in education. Some of the first
universities in the world were staffed by members of the Order of Saint
Augustine (O.S.A.). The Augustinians have continued the tradition of
education by founding schools in all of their mission territories. The
first schools in the United States were the efforts of the Irish
missionaries who arrived in the United States shortly after the American
Revolution. The core values of an Augustinian education are
Truth, Unity, and Love. In all that we
do, one will find these principles at work.
