Chris Williams To Continue Basketball Career at CCSU

St. Rita Basketball's Chris Williams (James G. Blaine School) recently signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and basketball careers at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU).

Christ Williams converts a break-away lay-up against St. Laurence.

Chris, a 6-foot-6 guard/forward  earned Chicago Catholic League South Division All-Conference First Team honors and was a Daily Southtown All-Area Honorable Mention selection in his senior campaign.

During his time as a St. Rita Basketball player, The Mustangs were in the midst of winning four-straight Catholic League titles under Coach Gary DeCesare. As a senior leader on the Mustangs, Chris helped St. Rita to a Class 4A Regional Final appearance. He scored a team-leading 18 points in an upset victory over Marist in the regional semifinals. Chris also has played with the Team Rose AAU team.

Coach DeCeasre said, "Chris is an old school, throw-back player. He has a great short game and he can get to the basket and pull up which is unlike a lot of players nowadays. He is a very good player for the Northeast Conference."
