St. Rita Lacrosse Players Sign Collegiate Letters of Intent

The St. Rita Lacrosse program is gearing up for the spring season. Before turning their full attention and focus to preparing for top competition, they took time on an early-February afternoon to celebrate the letter-of-intent signing ceremony of two senior members of the team--Dan Lawler and Matt McGury.

On Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, St. Rita seniors Matt McGury (St. Walter) and Dan Lawler (Mt. Greenwood), along with their family members, head coach and St. Rita administrators, gathered in the St. Rita board room, in the academic wing of the school, to sign national letters of intent to continue their academic and lacrosse careers at the collegiate level. Lawler committed to Benedictine University in Lisle. McGury will attend St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA.

Coach Juchcinski said, "The accomplishments of Matt and Dan are great examples of hard work paying off. Tremendous opportunities are available at St. Rita, academically and athletically. We teach our lacrosse players that teamwork is most important on the field; but we never lose sight of the fact that we (the coaching staff) are here to support each individual student-athlete and help set them up for success in life."
