We are in a time of year when we give thanks. Thanksgiving is a special time for us to acknowledge our blessings–and our St. Rita Family has many blessings to be thankful for–like the recently-renovated Doyle Stadium, Van Leuven Family Research Center, and Petkus Science Labs!
We simply couldn’t be a strong, 109-year-old, all-male, south side, Catholic, college-prep institution without the help of our alumni and benefactors and the intercession of our patroness, St. Rita. We give special thanks for our alumni and benefactors at Thanksgiving–and our students, faculty and staff pray everyday for all Ritamen and our benefactors.
After Thanksgiving, many people spend “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” searching for deals for Christmas gifts. The last few years a social-media movement called #GivingTuesday has emerged. #GivingTuesday is a day for people to come together around a common cause of giving back to their favorite cause or organization.
This year, St. Rita High School calls on the St. Rita Family to participate in the social-media-driven #GivingTuesday campaign. Our St. Rita campaign is called “Staunch & True”. On December 2, 2014 we ask you to visit Ways to Give and make a donation (by clicking “Make a Gift”) to St. Rita’s “Staunch & True” campaign to help fund scholarships.
The campaign lasts only 24 hours on December 2–that’s it–so let’s make it count. When you give, don’t be shy, please update your Facebook status, or send a Tweet, using the #GivingTuesday and #StaunchandTrue hashtags, letting your friends and followers know about your donation and publicizing the St. Rita campaign.
With your help St. Rita High School will remain a strong, Catholic institution on the south side of Chicago for another 109 years and beyond.
St. Rita of Cascia, pray for us!
