Mrs. Deenihan named 12th Principal
of St. Rita of Cascia High School

Dear Alumni and Friends,

On this, the feast of our patroness, St. Rita of Cascia, I am sending this note to tell you of a change in the administration of St. Rita of Cascia High School.

I am announcing that beginning with the academic year 2007-2008, I will relinquish the role of Principal of the school.  I will devote my full time and energy to the position of President. This means I will be spending more time with you, our Alumni, with fund raising, with public relations, and with pastoral ministry.  I am also announcing that, after consultation with the St. Rita Board of Directors, I have offered the position of Principal to Mrs. Sally Deenihan, currently the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, and she has accepted.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am to Mrs. Deenihan for her support over the five years I have been Principal.  She has been and will continue to be colleague, friend, role model, and a true Augustinian educator. I know she is an excellent choice for this important position.  Mrs. Deenihan is devoted to St. Rita of Cascia High School, and she gives 100% to the students, faculty and staff.  She truly lives out the Augustinian values of truth, unity and love.

Mrs. Deenihan is completing her 22nd year as teacher, administrator and moderator.  However, she has been involved at St. Rita for much longer.  Her brother is a 1958 graduate, her husband is a 1960 graduate, and she also has three sons who graduated from St. Rita High School in 1988, 1990, and 1991.  Her connection runs long and deep.

Blessings on each of you during this last week of the Easter Season and, especially today, may St. Rita powerfully intercede for you.

Sincerely in Christ and St. Rita,

Rev. Thomas R. McCarthy, O.S.A.
