Photo: St. Rita High School Senior Tony Zych has his parents’ support behind him as he signs a national letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Louisville, KY.  He was an All-State selection last year.

St. Rita of Cascia High School Varsity Baseball Coach Mike Zunica is pleased to announce that senior Tony Zych ‘08 (Monee) has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.  The dual-threat second baseman and right-handed pitcher is rated as the top infielder and the fourth-best prep baseball player in the state of Illinois by Prep Baseball Report.  Zych was an All-State, All-Area and All-League selection after hitting .416 with 14 doubles, four triples, four home runs, 41 RBI and 33 runs offensively and posting a 9-4 record with a 2.19 ERA and 85 strikeouts in just 67.1 innings. He batted .400 as a sophomore and also lettered in football and golf.  He is ranked #131 in the nation by Perfect Game and was timed running a 6.53 60-yard dash as a junior.  St. Rita wishes him all the best at the next level.
