Senior Tony Zych has his parents’ support behind him as he
signs a national letter of intent to play baseball at the
University of Louisville, KY. He was an All-State selection
last year.

Baseball Coach Mike Zunica is pleased to announce that senior Tony
Zych ‘08 (Monee) has signed a national letter of intent to play
baseball at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. The
dual-threat second baseman and right-handed pitcher is rated as
the top infielder and the fourth-best prep baseball player in the
state of Illinois by Prep Baseball Report. Zych was an All-State,
All-Area and All-League selection after hitting .416 with 14
doubles, four triples, four home runs, 41 RBI and 33 runs
offensively and posting a 9-4 record with a 2.19 ERA and 85
strikeouts in just 67.1 innings. He batted .400 as a sophomore and
also lettered in football and golf. He is ranked #131 in the
nation by Perfect Game and was timed running a 6.53 60-yard dash
as a junior. St. Rita wishes him all the best at the next level.
