It's that time again for the St. Rita students, faculty and staff to step-up and help! The Sophomore Student Government is running the annual St. Rita Food Drive. The food drive will last from November 5th to the 19th culminating in the student government hand delivering the food to food pantries and other organizations that serve the needy. The food drive, that has been going on for over 15 years donates between 4000-5000 items each year. The student homerooms and staff departments compete in friendly competition to see who can donate the most goods.
“The entire school comes together for this very important drive so that the people in the community that are not as fortunate as us, can have a little more to smile about around the holidays,” stated Socorro Yanez, coordinator of the food drive.
The student government and moderators ask that all students, teachers and staff bring in non-perishable food items throughout these two weeks. All donations from this food drive will benefit local food pantries and organizations. Remember, every item counts!
