The Van Leuven Family Research Center has opened at St. Rita, offering a comfortable, inviting, 21st century research and study center for Ritamen and their teachers. In beautiful surroundings, the students are already busy preparing for final exams, conducting research and doing homework. Open from 7:15 a.m.- 4 p.m. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and 7:15-5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, the Research Center is becoming a 'go-to' place for students before and after school. The Van Leuven Family Research Center holds a total of 45 computers (12 Apple iMac’s and 33 PC’s). There is also an iPad cart that holds 35 iPads for students and teachers to use at their convenience. The Research Center has wireless capabilities, which allows the teachers or students to connect wirelessly to the 60-inch panels or projection screens. This feature is specifically used for presentations or demonstrations to a class or any type of meeting being held within the faculty and staff.
Teachers are already filling up the Van Leuven Center's daily calendar by bringing their classes in for research, special presentations and iPad work. The facility, with its large main floor, attached computer lab and 4 group study rooms, can accommodate up to 4 classes simultaneously.
The Van Leuven Family Research Center was made possible through the generosity of Mrs. Marietta Van Leuven and her late husband Ed, class of 1945.
