Winterfest IX -- January 26th -- 6:30pm-Midnight

Winterfest

On January 26th the halls of St. Rita High School will be transformed into roads, the library into Yellow Stone National Park and the McCarthy Center into New York City. It is time for Winterfest once again, bringing family and friends together for a night of fun and laughter. Winterfest is an annual fundraiser put on by the parents of St. Rita High School where the committee picks a theme and then transforms the building into an unrecognizable scene.

Our theme this year is “St. Rita Family Vacation”. We are all going on a road trip together! Some of the things you will experience on our road trip include dancing the night away at the Yellowstone Park campsite, enjoying the Reprieve Blues Band in Ritaville, dancing to the music of Rendition in Casciafornia, dinner at Tom’s Truck Stop, desserts in New York City, and more! It is truly amazing how the school is transformed year after year. If you have not attended, you need to see it to believe it. The decorating is over the top and truly unbelievable! You don’t even feel like you’re in a school. It is one fantastic party!

Whether you are a regular attendee or a first time guest, there is one guarantee and that is you will be surrounded by friends and family of St. Rita. Chairman of Winterfest, Ruth Leyden, still remembers how surprised she was on who attended this event. “A few years prior to our oldest son starting school at St. Rita, we became regular attendees at the Winterfest parties,” stated Leyden. “My husband is a St. Rita alum so I knew he would know people, but I couldn’t believe how many people I knew throughout the event! It seemed like year after year I ran into old friends from grammar school, high school, and my old neighborhood and this is all before I even had a student in the school. It is just a great time and a wonderful way to reconnect with friends.”

In conjunction with Winterfest, the committee is hosting a Grand Raffle. The top prize for the Grand Raffle is $35,000! There will be four winners total with 2nd price receiving $5,000; 3rd prize receiving $2,000; and 4th prize receiving $1,000. The cost per ticket is $100 and only 1,000 tickets will be sold. That means you have a 1-250
