St. Rita of Cascia High School Announces Dual Enrollment Partnership with Grand Canyon University

St. Rita of Cascia High School is proud to collaborate with Grand Canyon University as a partner school of the Canyon Christian Schools Consortium. This partnership allows qualified St. Rita High School students (juniors and seniors meeting certain academic qualifications) to take online, college-level classes through Grand Canyon University’s Dual Enrollment Program. GCU’s dual enrollment opportunities provide high school students with an affordable and efficient way to earn college credit and get a head start on their college degree.

Grand Canyon University is committed to ensuring that their online high school students experience the same level of instruction, resources and rigor that their traditional student body receives. Students can expect that they will be well prepared to move to the next academic level of study when they enter college. St. Rita High School is supportive of our motivated and high-achieving students who want to get a head start in an increasingly competitive academic environment.

Dual enrollment is available to St. Rita High School juniors and seniors who have earned an unweighted cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above. The college credit (honors weighted) that a student earns through GCU will be calculated into his grade point average. All students must still fill seven periods of the school day with courses that St. Rita offers and cannot substitute a course offered by GCU for a course offered by St. Rita; however, a student may use an Independent Study Period to take a dual enrollment course offered through GCU. A student taking a GCU course will be required to keep his counselor aware of his progress.
