A large crowd gathered in the St. Rita High School football conference room at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 7740 S. Western Avenue.
The crowd of families, coaches, administrators and football players gathered to celebrate three St. Rita senior football players signing national letters of intent. Athletic Director Mike Zunica (HON) and Head Football Coach Todd Kuska '90 led the student signing ceremony.
The three senior players are: Defensive Lineman Thomas Stacker (Lansing Christian School), Offensive Lineman David Villasenor (Century Junior High), and Offensive Lineman Drew Walega (St. Christina). Stacker is headed to South Dakota State University, Walega signed with Eastern Illinois University, and Villasenor will attend Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Coach Kuska spoke highly of these Ritamen and said, “The St. Rita High School Football program always puts our student athletes first. We see so many of our graduates go on to succeed in college. We currently have over 50 Ritaman playing collegiate football. Through their hard work and dedication, Thomas, David and Drew have also earned their chance to continue their football careers beyond high school. They set a great example for our younger student athletes. We look forward to their continued leadership at the collegiate level.”
