St. Rita High School is proud to announce Illinois State Scholars from the Class of 2017. These state scholars make up students from the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs, hailing from nine different grammar schools. Ritamen come from near and far to make up the St. Rita Family.
To earn State Scholar honors, Ritamen must:
· Be a U. S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
· Be a resident of Illinois
· Perform in the top one-half of the high school class at the end of the third semester prior to graduation*, and/or score at or above the 95th percentile on the ACT or SAT

Principal Brendan Conroy said, "The achievement of these Ritamen is a testament to the work of our students and faculty. St. Rita is a well-rounded, college-preparatory academic institution that strives for excellence. Our 2016-17 Illinois State Scholars lead by example and demonstrate their commitment to academics." He added, "Our recent graduates have stopped by school and thanked us. They say that their first collegiate semester seems easier than St. Rita. They attribute this perception to their academic preparedness. These are students attending schools like Indiana University, Villanova (University) and other top institutions across the nation."
