St. Rita High School's Knights of Augustine Lead the Pope Francis Habitat for Humanity Challenge in West Pullman

The Knights of Augustine and Augustinian Volunteer Mr. Greg Tosto are bringing Habitat for Humanity's Pope Francis challenge to St. Rita.

The Pope Francis Challenge began as an anonymous donor pledged  up to $60,000 towards the construction of a Habitat home in West Pullman. This donation, while incredibly generous, is not enough for the completion of the home, which is only about halfway done. Throughout the next few months Habitat is trying to raise the final $60,000 needed for the building of the house as well as encourage more volunteers to get on the build site.

The Midwest Augustinian Province has a goal of $20,000 and as a school we have a sub-goal of $2,000.

We are focusing on both the volunteer aspect and the fundraising aspect of the challenge. Habitat for Humanity has blocked off three Augustinian build days in which Augustinians from the entire Midwest Province are invited to come and build. The first build day is actually this Thursday, March 24th, from 8:00-3:00. The second two are Saturday, April 16 and Saturday, May 7, both from 8:00-3:00.
