7740 S. Western Ave I Chicago, IL I 60620
With football winding down, basketball picking up and temperatures cooling, it’s once again that time of the year where all the 7th and 8th grade students begin the search for the high school they will attend. Schools all over the area have already hosted open houses and other various events to showcase their school and the students that reside in it. St. Rita’s Open House II is right around the corner on December 2nd starting at 12:00pm. This is a great opportunity for the community to see all the great happenings inside the school and what it means to be a Ritaman.
Since 1905, St. Rita has been successfully educating young men in the Augustinian and Catholic tradition on the Southside of Chicago. While embracing core
values of Truth, Unity, and Love, St. Rita forms each student as a whole person: spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially, providing young men with the necessary skills to succeed in college and in life, leading to the life-long learning and personal awareness.
St. Rita is committed to a College Preparatory curriculum. All students are placed in an academic program tailored to meet their needs. The Augustinian academy allows qualified students the opportunity of accelerated course work. The Mendel Academic Program provides students all the essential tools for success at the college level. The program structured through the Villanova Academic Study Center provides individual attention, small group work, and advice regarding study and organizational skills to those who need some assistance. All students, regardless of their academic program, may avail themselves of the services offered by the Villanova Academic Study Center.
The Academic excellence present at St. Rita is visible in the achievements of the Class of 2012. St. Rita’s most recent graduates earned over $14 million in merit-based scholarships.
St. Rita wishes to provide the wonderful opportunities it offers to all qualified young men. Over $1 million in scholarships and financial aid is awarded to St. Rita students each year. Various efficient and affordable methods of transportation are also made available, including MetraRail options and private bus service.
Success is truly evident in every aspect of life at St. Rita as it commits itself to being the premier all-boy Catholic high school on the Southside of Chicago.
