When Victor Law wasn’t grabbing rebounds and hitting mid-range jumpers, St. Rita teammate Myles Carter was on the glass and slipping inside for putbacks and slam dunks. St. Rita’s two 6-foot-7 standouts were too much for Providence to handle Friday night as they led the Mustangs to a 29-13 halftime lead en route to a 62-41 Catholic League South victory in New Lenox.
“When my shots were open, I took ’em,’’ Law said. “I made my shots and my teammates were finding me. It was easy for me to knock them down.’’
Law scored 11 of his 14 points in the first half and also was a force on the boards with 13 rebounds for the game.
“Coach tells us ‘What are we going to do when we don’t score?’ ’’ Law said of going to the glass. “We really try to emphasize that. There’s more things to basketball than just offense.’’
