St. Rita High School Announces April “Mustangs of the Month”
St. Rita High School presents a notable member of each class with the “Mustang of the Month” award every month during the academic year. Faculty and staff nominate students based on the student’s overall achievements and involvement at St. Rita High School. A committee selects the winners from the nominees. The following students were selected the April 2015 Mustangs of the Month:
Dave Kosman - Senior
Dave is a member of St. Walter Parish and a graduate of its grammar school. While at St. Rita he has participated in Soccer, Knights of Augustine, NHS, Outdoors Club, and was a Kairos leader. Outside of St. Rita, Dave has helped with Angel’s Touch and was a part of the Peacebuilders Initiative.
When asked to share what his time at St. Rita has meant to him, Dave says, “Where to begin? St. Rita had been the time of my life. These last four years have been amazing and filled with good times. I will never forget the friends I’ve made and the memories I have. You’re all my brothers and I love you all.”
Kurt Zeiger - Junior
Kurt is a member of St. Christina Parish and a graduate of its grammar school. While at St. Rita Kurt has participated in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Volleyball, as well as the Spanish Club. Outside of St. Rita Kurt is involved in The Autism and Behavior Center as well as the Mt. Greenwood Park Recreation Center.
When asked to share what his time at St. Rita has meant to him Kurt says, “My time at St. Rita has flown by but I couldn’t have spent it with a better group of guys. I have one year left and this and I hope to make it a good one. We are family here and these years of my life won’t be forgotten. Go Mustangs.”
Jayson Rush - Sophomore
Jayson is a member of St. John De La Salle Parish and a graduate of its grammar school. While at St. Rita Jayson has participated in Basketball and the Stock Club. Outside of St. Rita Jayson participates in his parish serving mass, mentoring grammar school kids, and helping around the parish office.
When asked to share what his time at St. Rita has meant to him, Jayson says, “My time here at St. Rita has helped me grow so much and I can’t believe how time flies by. It has truly been an amazing experience and I look forward to Junior and Senior year.”
Jay Ullrich - Freshman
Jay is a member of St. Germaine Parish and a graduate its grammar school. Jay has participated in Basketball, SADD, and is a member of Student Government. Outside of St. Rita, Jay helps around St. Germaine parish wherever the help is needed.
As Jay finishes his first year at St. Rita he states, “The experience I am getting at St. Rita is great. All the new people I have met and the opportunities I am given are amazing. I am grateful for all of it and can’t wait for the next three years.”
