Inside the Classroom: February Academics Recap
Each month, we highlight the engaging lessons and dynamic classroom experiences shaping our Ritamen. Through hands-on activities and academic exploration, these moments capture how our Ritamen are challenged and inspired in the classroom.
Mr. Kuska’s ‘90 Human Anatomy classes completed a blood pressure and pulse lab.
Our Mustang Academic Program at St. Rita High School is a Title I class that gives extra support to students who need additional help in Math and English. The program is designed to make sure students fully understand important skills and concepts, while also building confidence in the classroom. With smaller class sizes and more one-on-one attention, teachers are able to closely monitor progress and provide support that fits each student’s needs. The Mustang Academic Program creates a positive and encouraging environment where students can grow academically and develop the skills they need to be successful in high school and beyond.
The Mustang Academic Program (MAP) supports our Ritamen with Academic Coaching where they learn helpful study habits, organization skills, time management, and goal-setting strategies. Students fill out update forms to compare last week with this week and see any changes in grades and teachers' comments on work. Once the forms are completed, our MAP teachers meet with each student to review the form and discuss reasons for any changes and possible strategies for the new week.
Together, opportunities like hands-on labs in Mr. Kuska’s Human Anatomy class and the Mustang Academic Program demonstrate how our Ritamen are supported, challenged, and empowered each day, growing the skills they need for success.
