2026 St. Rita Hall of Fame Inductee: Terry Quinn ‘84
We are honored to induct Terry Quinn ‘84 into the St. Rita Hall of Fame at our 89th Annual Alumni Banquet & Hall of Fame Dinner.
Terry Quinn ‘84 was born and raised in Marquette Park by his parents, Jack and Ellen Quinn. He attended St. Rita Grammar School before enrolling at St. Rita High School. Growing up, Terry and his friends would spend their Sundays watching their heroes play football at the greatest stadium ever built on 63rd & Claremont.
During his time at Rita, he played football for legendary coach Pat Cronin, served as senior class president, and captained the 1983 team that advanced to the state semifinals. After graduating, Terry continued his football career at Loras College, where he played for two years before earning his degree. After college, he began his professional career as a market regulator at the Chicago Board of Trade, a position he has held for 37 years.
The lifelong commitment to St. Rita runs deep in Terry’s family. His father Jack Quinn and uncle Gene Schaller, two members of the St. Rita Hall of Fame, coached the JV football team in the early 1970s. In 1989, Jack and Gene began to coach the freshman team and had decades of great success.
In 1992,Terry married his wife, Julie. Together they have four children: Molly, Johnny ‘17, Brendan ‘19, and Kelly. That same year, Terry returned to St. RIta as an assistant freshman coach. He had the honor and privilege of coaching alongside his dad, Uncle Gene, Jay Standring, and Chuck Zeeman.
In 1998, head coach Todd Kuska invited him to join the varsity staff as defensive backs coach, beginning a long tenure mentoring St. Rita student-athletes. Over the years, Terry has been honored to coach countless Ritamen, including his own sons, Johnny ’17 and Brendan ’19. He has been a part of many outstanding teams, most notably the 2006 State Championship team and the state runner-up teams in 2019, 2021, and 2025. His decades of dedication reflect a lifelong commitment to St. Rita, its football tradition, and the young men who pass through its program.
