2026 St. Rita Hall of Fame Inductee: Tom Harrington Jr. ‘06

We are honored to induct Tom Harrington Jr. ‘06 into the St. Rita Hall of Fame at our 89th Annual Alumni Banquet & Hall of Fame Dinner.

Tom came to St. Rita from St. John Fisher Parish, following in the footsteps of his father Tom ‘74 and brother, Jack ‘02. He and his father now enter the very exclusive club of the father and son duos in the St. Rita Hall of Fame. 

At St. Rita, Tom was a three-sport athlete for all four years as a Mustang, competing in football, hockey, and baseball. On the football field, he started at center his senior year helping the Mustangs to a Class 7A playoff berth, paving the way for the Mustangs to capture the Class 7A State Championship the following season. He also found his niche as a long snapper, which would eventually earn him an opportunity to play football at Western Michigan University. Tom also captained the varsity hockey team his senior season and was a driving force in Hall of Fame coach Craig Ferguson’s early tenure at St. Rita before making the skating Mustangs a state powerhouse. On the baseball field, he was a part of back-to-back regional championship teams in 2005-2006. 

Tom earned a preferred walk-on opportunity to play football at Western Michigan University upon his graduation from St. Rita. He quickly grabbed the starting long snapper job as a freshman and was awarded a scholarship. In his career for the Broncos, he recorded an impressive 50 consecutive starts demonstrating remarkable consistency and reliability. Following his four years in Kalamazoo, he received an invitation to the Chicago Bears Rookie Mini-Camp. 

In June of 2010, Tom began his professional career at the Chicago Board of Trade where he continues to work to this day trading commodity futures. 

He and his wife Nikki currently reside in Evergreen Park in Most Holy Redeemer Parish and have three children, Sloane (10), Blair (7), and future Mustang Henry (6). Tom has continued his family’s legacy at St. Rita well after his graduation 20 years ago as he remains a staunch supporter of all things St. Rita.
